Maintenance Release | EDGE® Connect CNC Software

We are pleased to announce Phoenix CNC software maintenance release version 10.14 for EDGE Connect CNCs, to both the production line and for download via the Hypertherm.com website.

This quarterly software maintenance release contains new value-added feature enhancements and resolution to several reported field issues.

Some key highlights of this release:
• EDGE Connect CNCs now pause and warn the operator if the Z Axis lower limit has been reached. The message displayed is THC At Lower Limit.
• Added support for an EtherCAT cutting system with only a Rail and THC axes setup.
• Updated Hypertherm’s software Terms of Use. A link to view the Terms of Use displays every time that Phoenix launches. Choose OK on this screen to agree to the Terms of Use and continue using Phoenix.
• Backlash Compensation is now functional with EtherCAT for the following axes: Transverse, Rail, Dual Gantry and Transverse 2.
• Added support for a discrete plasma cutting tool on Station 2 using the Plasma 2 process, while an XPR, HPR, or Powermax EtherCAT cutting tool is assigned on Station 1, Plasma 1. This change also supports a discrete marker tool on its own station and using the Marker 2 process while station 1 is configured with an EtherCAT tool.

Please review the release notes document for important details regarding this software update, including resolutions provided and related installation procedures.

In addition to the Phoenix Suite Installer release, updates have been made to the HTML Help file, cut charts and EDGE Connect Suite Installer. Please install these updates with the Phoenix 10.14 software.

Software updates for EDGE Connect CNCs have an anticipated release at the end of each quarter. Additional interim releases are also possible based on critical field requirements. The next regularly planned version release (V10.15 Image 50) is scheduled for April 2020.

As is always recommended, ProNest nesting software and XPR™ and HPR® system users should confirm they are using the latest software and plasma system firmware update, to ensure optimal outcomes.
