HPRXD Nozzle Retaining Cap Insulator Change

We have made an improvement to the insulator of our nozzle retaining cap (also known as ‘inner cap’ or ‘inner retaining cap’) for the HyPerformance HPRXD system.

There have been issues with nozzle retaining cap insulators cracking or breaking when dropped on the cutting table or floor. This was caused by the plastic materials used as the insulator.

Our engineering team has evaluated replacement plastics to solve this issue. We have selected an alternative material that not only matches the performance of the current plastic but also shows much greater impact resistance.

This picture illustrates the difference in appearance between the current cap and the new cap. You will see that the new cap is slightly glossier and has a straight knurl.

This change was made during week 29 – 2018 to the parts highlighted in this table. All other parts listed will have been changed by approximately mid-August.

Given the change to the appearance of this product, we recommend that you notify your customers of this change. If you have any questions , please contact your Hypertherm sales manager.
