As the globe continues to manage the spread of COVID-19, many communities are now issuing shelter in place orders and asking non-essential businesses to pause operations. I am writing now to confirm and reassure you that Hypertherm, and by extension our critical suppliers and business partners, is considered an essential business as defined by the United States Department of Homeland Security.
Our industrial cutting products, including plasma and waterjet systems, are deemed essential to our national defense and considered vital to industries such as health and medical, food service, transportation, water and wastewater treatment. This includes Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS) rated orders used to prioritize national defense goods throughout the U.S. supply chain in support of military, energy, homeland security, emergency preparedness, and critical infrastructure requirements. In addition, we also serve the critical manufacturing sector, providing product across the manufacturing spectrum.
As a result, we continue to process and ship product in support of our business partners even as we take precautions to protect the well-being of our Associate owners and the global communities in which we work.
