In the coming weeks you will notice visual changes to boxes for heavy industrial consumables, torches, preventative maintenance kits, and spare parts. In support of our Greener Cuts initiative and to reduce our environmental impact we are switching from bleached, white boxes to brown, Kraft boxes. All bleached-white boxes for HIB consumables, torches and parts will be converted. This is an aesthetic change only and will not reduce the rigidity or durability of the box.
By no longer using white, bleached boxes the annual environmental benefits are:
• Reduction of 28 metric tons of wood used
• Reduction of 20,692 lbs. of CO2 (equivalent of 18,429 miles driven)
• Reduction of 236,796 gallons of water
• Reduction of 168 million BTU used (equivalent of heating one 1,500 sq. ft apartment in severe winter zone for 34 months)
This packaging change is just one example of Hypertherm’s commitment to protecting our environment.
