We are implementing changes to our large, mechanized plasma power supplies to comply with the European Union’s Ecodesign directive. This directive, first adopted in 2008, sets mandatory energy consumption requirements for energy-using and energy-related products. Recently, the European commission established a “maximum energy consumption while idling” rule. To comply, all Hypertherm XPR, MAXPRO200, and HPR400XD power sources placed into the European Union market on or after 1 January 2023 must consume less than 50W while in an idle state. We will ensure all power supplies leaving our U.S. manufacturing facilities on or after this date are compliant. However, products in your inventory manufactured prior to this date may not be compliant. For this reason, we recommend consulting with a professional advisor to see if any products in your inventory are impacted.
