Rev. P firmware upgrade for XPR® X-Definition plasma systems

New XPR firmware for the control board, gas connect, and chopper unit is now available following a July 15 release date. This new firmware offers two specific benefits.

1. Improved error handling in the event of a CAN bus failure so the unit does not produce any output. Customers are encouraged to update their XPR as soon as possible to benefit from this enhancement.

2. New limits on process offset values to provide OEM partners with additional cut and marking control optimization with the XPR.

* +/- 50% limit still applies for OptiMix H2/Mix processes (H2, N2 and Ar).
** Output will be limited to the max. current allowed by their system.

Note: XPR® plasma processes and Arc response technology like Automatic ramp-down error protection are designed to work with the default process settings. Aggressive overrides may cause non-optimal system behavior resulting in shorter consumable life, torch height control issues or arc snapping off. Please consult your regional Product Application Engineer (PAE) for further details.

You can access an updated version of the CNC Communication Protocol (809810) from the Hypertherm Xnet immediately by visiting https://xnet.hypertherm.com/Xnet/library/library.jsp.

After the XPRTM is updated, the new firmware will transition revision levels as shown below.

Our WiFi and torch connect firmware remains the same though Hypertherm will release updated Phoenix® software (version 10.16.0) to the field in August 2020.
