XPR firmware Rev. K update

We are releasing a new revision K XPR firmware on November 30.

The recently released revision J did not enable the use of the F5 HDi processes in the VWI console. In addition, there were several incompatibilities that could negatively impact system functionality. Revision K firmware fixes this.

The recently released revision J XPR firmware did not enable the use of F5 HDi processes for stainless steel cutting when using the VWI console. In addition, we found compatibility issues, for example, revision J firmware was not compatible with revision H Torch Connect firmware. There were upload issues when using the client (router) mode. Because of this we are releasing a new revision K XPR firmware for the power supply control board and the Wi-Fi tool. The other firmware elements, e.g. Gas Connect and Torch Connect consoles, as well as the choppers, will stay at revision J.

If the firmware is uploaded via the USB drive, uploading to the power supply control board will automatically uprev the power supply control board while leaving the remaining firmware elements at rev. J. The Wi-Fi tool still needs to be upgraded via the wireless interface.

If uploading the firmware via the Wi-Fi tool, the Wi-Fi should be uploaded first and then the power supply control board. If revision J hasn’t been uploaded to the other firmware components, this needs to be done in order to get all the benefits that were added to revision J, including 50 amp True Hole and compatibility with the latest version of the OptiMix console (see related announcement).

Rev. K XPR firmware for the power supply control board and the Wi-Fi tool can be downloaded from the Hypertherm Xnet starting November 30. Files are located in the Software folder, Firmware sub-folder. Including an XPR300 or XPR170 product filter will eliminate non-relevant files.
