Aftermarket consumables raid in Czech Republic

Hypertherm is pleased to announce the seizure of nearly 2,000 aftermarket consumables during a recent raid in the Czech Republic. During the raid, Czech customs officials confiscated hundreds of electrodes, nozzles, and shields allegedly manufactured in a way that infringed on patented Hypertherm technologies. This included technologies found in Hypertherm’s Duramax torch, along with consumables protected by both Czech invention and European design patents. The products were being produced by a company called APL Cutting, who in turn, was selling the consumables under the JS Cutting brand name. All told the consumables had a market value of approximately $28,000.
