Global supply chain challenges and packaging changes

Hypertherm, like many businesses, continues to experience supply chain disruption and volatility. Although we have made significant progress working with our suppliers and alternate vendors to secure steady volumes, we continue to encounter sourcing challenges. This message is to let you know about the most recent challenges we are facing and our efforts to minimize disruption to your business.

Packaging – In the coming weeks, you may occasionally see differences in the appearance of packaging for some Hypertherm genuine consumables, including nozzles, caps, swirl rings and shields across our XPR, HPR, MAXPRO, and legacy mechanized product lines. This change will mostly be noticeable in the package printing.

XPR and HPR Consumables – Increased demand during the fourth quarter of last year, which in some cases was up to 85 percent greater than normal, combined with multiple supply chain challenges have increased our normal lead times. Although we are shipping the vast majority of consumable orders on-time, we are experiencing delays of up to 5 weeks on some shipments, especially those for nozzles and caps. We have engaged in a combination of mitigation initiatives, including securing long-term supply commitments, expedited shipping, development of alternate suppliers and alternative materials. As a result of these actions, our production line is now running at full capacity and lead time recovery will improve over the coming weeks. At this time, consumables for our Powermax products are not affected, with plenty of stock on hand.

Systems – Most of the lead times for our plasma systems are trending favorably. Currently we are experiencing lead times of between 4 and 6 weeks for Powermax systems, 4 weeks for MAXPRO systems, and 7 to 9 weeks for our XPR and HPR plasma.

We understand the impact these shortages and changes have to you and your customer’s business. Please know though that our entire team is working nonstop to identify potential issues and mitigate disruptions. Please contact your account representative with any further questions.
