HT4400/HD4070 Retaining Cap Insulator Change

We are committed to minimizing our impact on the environment through our Green initiative, and to continuous improvement of productivity in our factory to help us keep pricing as stable as possible for our customers.

For the past few years, the Hypertherm engineering team has been evaluating replacement plastics to improve productivity in our factory and to lessen environmental impact and has selected an alternative material that has properties to match the performance of the current material. The change results in a 94% reduction in landfill waste compared to the current manufacturing method. It also represents a modest improvement in cycle time and tooling, helping us improve the productivity in our factory.

This change impacts both the HT4400 and HD4070 systems. The part numbers listed below will have no change in performance. This pictures illustrate the difference in appearance between the current cap insulator material and the new material. The new material is darker, and you may see that the new insulator appears slightly marbled internally as compared to the current design.
